Love Me Home

Love Me Home is a new book by Northumbria Community Companion Christine Barnabas. Rooted in her experience during and after the 30-day Ignatian Exercises, it blends personal narrative, scripture, art, poetry and theological reflection. It draws the reader to go on their own journey with the human Christ who knows from the inside the joy of being alive, next to pain, grief, betrayal, abandonment and loneliness we wrestle with. The honest and vulnerable poetry together with Christine’s artwork shed a new light on the Gospel and gives testimony to how out of death can spring forth new life. Her writing reaches us in places where we often find it difficult to go to by ourselves. Love Me Home explores themes like trauma, forgiveness, our true self and how we can hold on to the Spirit’s candle as we go down into the deeps. It is a beautiful and compassionate companion for the inner journey.
