Jesse Tree Ornaments: pdf download. Available to purchase until December 12th 2025
Advent & Christmas, Celtic Daily Prayer & Liturgy, Music & Creativity, Northumbria Community Resources & Teaching, Resources for the Christian Year
The Jesse Tree has been used over many centuries to bring life to the characters who are part of Jesus' family Tree from Jesse through David to Joseph and Mary.
These 6 sheets contain the 31 double-sided ornaments that illustrate the Jesse Tree readings, one for each day in December.
Each ornament illustrates one of the Jesse Tree readings written by Andy Raine from the Northumbria Community. The readings themselves, one for each day in December, are available in Celtic Daily Prayer Book 2: Farther Up and Farther In published by Collins and available here
Also available from the Northumbria Community is the Jesse Tree Pack which contains these card ornaments along with an A5 booklet of the readings - available hereÂ
Your Jesse Tree can be made from anything you wish but many people use a branch which can either be left in its natural state or stripped and painted gold, silver or white and then suspended from a ceiling or ‘planted’ in a pot.
Colour and cut out your ornaments then carefully thread some cotton or fine cord through the top of each ornament where it is marked with an X. Tie the thread in a loop so that you can hang your ornament up.

Names for the Messiah: An Advent Study
Advent & Christmas, Resources for the Christian Year
In Isaiah 9:6, a divine utterance is given to us using four royal titles – Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace. Names of Messiah ponders each title and how the people understood it then, how Jesus did or did not fulfil the title, and how Christians interpret Jesus as representative of that title.
Christians have claimed from the beginning that Jesus was the Messiah as foretold in the Old Testament. In this study, bestselling author Water Brueggemann tackles the questions: What were these expectations? and Did Jesus fulfil them? Perfect for individual or group study, this book includes prayer and questions for reflection that can be used each week.
