Ancient Paths CD
Celtic Prayer, Creativity, Music & Creativity, Spiritual Growth
Anna's first solo album includes some of her 'signature' pieces as well as some songs of her own. Some of you will recognise familiar words from the Complines in Celtic Daily Prayer drawn from Carmina Gadelica and other traditional sources. Here they are set to Anna's own music which has emerged over the years of saying and singing these night-time prayers with her children, Joel and Martha. Anna says, 'I hope you will want to play this album often and that it will capture something of the rhythm of the tides, the sounds of the island and also its stillness.'

Love Is: A6 greetings card
Creativity, Spiritual Growth
Created: 1999
Words:
Love is always patient and kind. Love is not boastful or conceited. It is never rude, and never seeks its own advantage. It does not take offence or store up grievances. Love does not rejoice in wrong doing but finds its joy in the truth. It always ready to make allowances, to trust, to hope and to endure whatever comes. These remain: faith, hope and love, and the greatest is love.
Background:
Based on 1 Corinthians 13 (v. 4-13). A good exercise is to replace the word 'love' with your own name to see if you match up - not an easy task but one worthy of aspiring to!

This item is 105mmX148mm and is printed on 300gsm gloss card stock. Each card is blank inside, has its title and copyright details on the back and is individually wrapped in cellophane with an envelope.

Translation for ‘Our Father’:
Our Father in heaven rich,
Thy name be blessed I wish,
Lead us Lord into thy bliss,
Let us never thy riches miss.
Let us Lord accept alone
That thy will be ever done
Also as it is in heaven
In earth may it be even,
The heaven bread that lasteth today
Give us Lord this same day,
Forgive us Lord to our bone
All that we have here misdone,
Also as we wisely forgave
While we in this world live
All that here us misdo
And we beseech thee too,
Lead us Lord to our testing
And shield us from all evil thing.
Adapted using a medieval dictionary & a bit of
imagination - language scholars please excuse any
horrible mistakes.
The modern
version interwoven
with the old:
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.

Journey: A6 greetings card
Creativity, Spiritual Growth
Words:
None
Background:
Artist Mary Fleeson comments..."The design of ‘Journey’ was an experiment inspired by a manuscript at the British Library. The parchment I saw had been painted with a rich purple-red ink and the script was formed using gold ink which appeared coppery in colour. Therefore I formed my cross in a similar way and to achieve the layered textural depth effect I experimented with collage.
The working title for the piece was ‘Unknown Journey’, its layers representing C.S Lewis’ view of death as an ‘onward and upward’ journey to a better, brighter, more ‘real’ place."
