As some songs do, it remained a favourite that I returned to year after year and it was a pleasure to use it as inspiration for my work. The working title for the piece was ‘Unknown Journey’, its layers representing C.S Lewis’ view of death as an ‘onward and upward’ journey to a better, brighter, more ‘real’ place."
